Gottmadingen. On Thursday 5 June, the Gottmadingen Music Society performed an evening concert on Anneliese-Bilger-Platz. The weather and the weather forecasts were a real thrill: continuous rain and cool temperatures the days before. Nevertheless, the decision was made to go ahead with the event, as a lot of time had been invested in the rehearsals.

And it was worth it. For the few hours on Thursday evening of all days, it was dry and warm enough for the musicians and audience who had gathered on the square despite the weather. They were rewarded with a varied concert. As usual, Peter Gassner led through the programme with wit and plenty of information. The concert pieces were well received by the audience: conductor Vicente Sierra had put together catchy melodies and lively rhythms in a well-mixed, varied programme. ‘A great open-air concert with a bit of southern flair to enjoy,’ summarised one listener.

However, resting is out of the question for the orchestra. New pieces are also being rehearsed for the regional music festival in Singen on 28 June, which will expand the repertoire in the future. The motto chosen for this festival is ‘¡Música Latina Gottmadingen!’, which puts the Spanish conductor in his element. In Singen, the orchestra will be performing a potpourri of Spanish and Latin American music on the Ekkehard stage from 10 am.

Another highlight this summer will be a charity concert on 20 July in Rielasingen. The Musikverein Rielasingen-Arlen, where Vicente Sierra plays the trumpet, and the Musikverein Gottmadingen, of which he is the conductor, are organising this concert.

Concerned about the flood disaster last autumn in Valencia, Vicente Sierra's home town, the two associations want to do something to support the Spanish music associations in Valencia. They have lost sheet music and instruments and rehearsal rooms need to be renovated. The fact that Sierras' former association ‘CIM Banda Torrefiel’ from Valencia will be visiting Rielasingen on 20 July provides a good opportunity for a joint concert by the three bands.

The donations from this benefit concert will go to the music association in Valencia, which is best placed to support the local associations.

Sabor sureño con la Sociedad Musical de Gottmadingen

Gottmadingen. El jueves 5 de junio, la Sociedad Musical de Gottmadingen ofreció un concierto nocturno en la Anneliese-Bilger-Platz. El tiempo y las previsiones meteorológicas eran de órdago: lluvia continua y temperaturas frescas los días anteriores. No obstante, se decidió seguir adelante con el evento, ya que se había invertido mucho tiempo en los ensayos.

Y mereció la pena. Durante las pocas horas que duró la velada del jueves de todos los días, estuvo lo suficientemente seca y cálida para los músicos y el público que se habían reunido en la plaza a pesar del tiempo. Fueron recompensados con un concierto variado. Como de costumbre, Peter Gassner dirigió el programa con ingenio y mucha información. Las piezas del concierto fueron bien recibidas por el público: el director Vicente Sierra había reunido melodías pegadizas y ritmos vivos en un programa bien mezclado y variado. Un gran concierto al aire libre con un toque sureño para disfrutar", resumió un oyente.

Sin embargo, el descanso está descartado para la orquesta. También se están ensayando nuevas piezas para el festival regional de música de Singen del 28 de junio, que ampliará el repertorio en el futuro. El lema elegido para este festival es «¡Música Latina Gottmadingen!», lo que pone al director español en su elemento. En Singen, la orquesta interpretará un popurrí de música española y latinoamericana en el escenario Ekkehard a partir de las 10 de la mañana.

Otro acontecimiento destacado de este verano será un concierto benéfico que se celebrará el 20 de julio en Rielasingen. El Musikverein Rielasingen-Arlen, donde Vicente Sierra toca la trompeta, y el Musikverein Gottmadingen, del que es director, organizan este concierto.

Preocupadas por la catástrofe de las inundaciones del pasado otoño en Valencia, ciudad natal de Vicente Sierra, las dos asociaciones quieren hacer algo para apoyar a las asociaciones musicales españolas de Valencia. Han perdido partituras e instrumentos y hay que renovar las salas de ensayo. El hecho de que la antigua asociación de Sierras, la CIM Banda Torrefiel de Valencia, visite Rielasingen el 20 de julio brinda una buena oportunidad para un concierto conjunto de las tres bandas.

Los donativos de este concierto benéfico se destinarán a la asociación musical de Valencia, que es la que mejor puede apoyar a las asociaciones locales.
